Ignored. Underestimated. Feeling like I didn't measure up to the creators who seemed ahead of me.
That was me 3 years ago when I started writing online.
I remember watching Dakota Robertson blow up on the timeline.
His threads were going viral almost daily, and everyone I talked to was singing his praises or wanting to work with him.
The guy was posting screenshots of pulling in $20k+ per month ghostwriting - And he was 4 years younger than me…
… Talk about a hit to the ego.
I won't lie, I was envious. I wanted that recognition for all my hard work too.
But... I got nothing.
I'd hop into X spaces to talk about writing, and no one cared what I had to say. They were there for Dakota.
But that all changed when I shifted my mindset.
My real problem? I was chasing external recognition for effort, but the world only rewards you for results.
Once I understood that, the path forward became crystal clear:
If I wanted to be seen as an authority, I had to become one.
So, I put my head down and started treating writing like a craft instead of a hobby.
I wrote 2 threads a day (for free) for 6 months straight.
It was exhausting. Grueling. And honestly, most days, I didn’t feel like it.
But looking back? It was the best decision I ever made. With consistency and patience, I got better than 99% of writers.
Soon, the results followed:
- A ghostwriting mentorship
- More clients than I could handle
- Invites to podcasts, spaces, and live events

A secret from my college teaching days:
If you want the fastest path to improve your writing, you need to go 'micro.'
Most people don't realize that writing is a bundled-skill.
To get good, you have to master the micro-skills one by one. And in the right order.
That’s what my Micro-Writer system will help you do. It’s a clear path to writing better content in less time, and for the first time, you’ll get access to all my custom GPT systems—but only for 4 days.
