Tomorrow’s the big day.
Digital Identity V2 will finally see the light of day.
6 months after we ran V1 of the cohort.
It feels great to be back in the teaching chair, helping writers, creators, and ordinary people build profitable personal brands.
I love being able to flex those 7 years of college teaching experience but at a topic that I am so obsessed with it gives me goose bumps.
But something I, and many other creators, don’t say often, is how hard this is…
A True Behind the Scenes Look into Building Digital Identity V2
Building products is hard.
Building amazing products is excruciating.
I haven’t stopped thinking about this Alex Hormozi quote:
“You don’t even know what hard work looks like.”
People think hard work is simply creating a product, putting marketing together and blasting it out on the timeline.
But it’s so much more than that.
An amazing product is born from iteration.
Redoing the same thing unti it’s as good as possible (and you’re sick of it).
While making so many big, risky decisions it makes your brain bleed.
What do I mean by this?
During Digital Identity V1, we noticed 50% of people stopped regularly attending after 6 weeks.
Tt was too overwhelming for them.
They loved the value.
And felt we overdelivered.
But felt 3 months was too long to commit to attending masterclasses, group writing sessions, and guest masterclasses while working 9-to-5 jobs and having time for their personal lives.
So we listened.
We shortened it to 6 weeks (without stripping ANYTHING from the core curriculum).
We also had past students like David and Marko work closely with us to make sure we built V2 around only high impact ideas.

But narrowing it down to the highest impact ideas was an insane amount of hard work that I’m extremely proud of.
The Personal Struggles You Don’t See
Although building Digital Identity V2 was hard.
It wasn’t the hardest obstacle to overcome.
The true Goliath, was overcoming my demons.
What demons?
You see, a few weeks ago, I made the hardest decision of my life.
One that brought me to tears nearly every day since I made it.
After 2 years of being together, I decided to part ways with the woman I planned to marry next year and start a family with.
I love her with every essence of my being.
She truly is a goddess who seems to walk on water.
But even so, my intuition was sending me signals.
It was time to part ways.
She was the woman I wanted but not the one I needed.
So I made the heart wrenching decision to walk away from one of the most amazing women I’ve ever met…
… In the middle of building Digital Identity V2.
Imagine how you felt after your worst break up?
❖ Not feeling motivated to work
❖ Not feeling like getting out of bed
❖ Struggling to focus on even the most simple of tasks
I’ve felt like this for weeks.
But even so, I sat in the chair, and got to work.
The emotional highs and lows that come with being human make consistency an up hill battle.
Despite not feeling motivated, I’ll always remember giving it my best.
Because at the end of the day, I am solely responsible for delivering a life changing experience to all students in Digital Identity V2.
That purpose alone was enough to keep me going when the days felt dark and the night felt full of terrors.

The Real Hero’s Behind Digital Identity V2
Being the face of my Digital Identity, I get all of the credit.
Which is unfortunate, because few people know that Taylin Simmonds as a Digital Identity is actually the brain child of 3 people:
